About

PinOaks Park is a Thoroughbred transition and retraining centre focused on finding the right pathway for each horse beyond racing.

Founded by Lisa Wilson following many years working across New Zealand’s racing, breeding and stud sectors, PinOaks was developed in response to a need for more structured and individualised transition support for retired Thoroughbreds.

Every horse begins with an assessment of its health, temperament, history, current needs and future potential. From there, PinOaks determines the most appropriate pathway, which may include retraining and rehoming, rehabilitation, further education, companion placement or additional veterinary assessment.

Rather than assuming every Thoroughbred should follow the same path, PinOaks focuses on making decisions that support the horse’s long-term welfare and suitability for its next home.

With welfare, transparency and responsible rehoming at its core, PinOaks helps give Thoroughbreds the preparation and support they need for a successful life beyond racing.
